Remote Hearing Policy / Bell County Dist Court

Effective August 1st all trials, hearings and other proceedings in Bell County District Court shall be conducted in person. See attached policy.

 

Consent for a hearing to be conducted remotely (or a party to appear remotely) will only be permitted by written order for good cause and not for the convenience of the parties and/or the attorneys. This consent MUST be granted by the Court prior to hearing date. Any permitted remote proceeding shall be subject to the Bell County District Court Local Rules, including rules regarding attire and conduct in the court room.

 

All felony announcement and pretrial dockets (this DOES NOT include jury trial docket calls) will still be done by e-mail to the Court with the agreed announcement prior to the court date.

**Effective July 1, 2021, notices of hearings and trials for cases in the Bell County District Courts will be sent to the parties by e-mail. On criminal cases, a notice will ONLY be sent to the defendants on bond if an e-mail address has been provided for the defendant by the bond company on the bond.
